}2027 Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference
Mon, June 7th, 2027 - Tue, June 8th, 2027
()
1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC
The next Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference will take place June 7-8, 2027 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC. For over 40 years, this event has convened experts, decisionmakers, academics, and civil society leaders from around the world to grapple with the nuclear issues of the day. There is so much to discuss, from AI to nuclear energy, space to missile defense.
The 2027 conference will be fully in-person. So mark your calendars now, and stay tuned for more information about registration, which will open in mid-January.
Note to the Community
The Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference has been a central venue for breaking news, sharing ideas, forging connections, and even launching careers for four decades. Stories from participants about the conference’s value are why we have continued to devote significant staff time and institutional resources to this event, even as convening costs have grown.
As we stated at the conclusion of the 2025 conference, less funding is available for this event. We have spent the last year exhaustively exploring options to put on a conference that serves the community, does not compromise on intellectual quality, and is financially viable and affordable for attendees.
We are excited that we were able to meet those objectives and the conference will return in 2027, but you may notice some changes. The format will be fully in-person, so mark your calendars now and register, in mid-January, as soon as it’s possible to do so! We will likely have fewer receptions outside the formal program and will pass savings onto attendees by lowering ticket prices. We will also be seeking additional partnerships to defray costs.
Though we can’t predict the future of the Nuclear Policy Conference, we are fully committed to making the 2027 conference unmissable by upholding the rigor and candor that has kept people coming back for decades, while channeling the dynamism and turbulence of the current moment through innovative programming. There is so much to discuss from AI to nuclear energy, nuclear threats to proliferation crises, and we hope you will be part of it. We look forward to seeing you in Washington, DC in June 2027.
